At Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, we are looking for an outstanding High-Performance Computing (HPC) specialist to join our team. Our team is dedicated to leveraging the latest HPC technologies and architectures to support our global business and research objectives. As a successful candidate, you will have a deep understanding of HPC concepts/technologies and will have technical skills and experience in supporting HPC Linux solutions. You should have a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 5+ years of experience supporting Linux HPC solutions. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills and able to work collaboratively with our HPC internal customers.

**This individual can sit at any Collins domestic location or remote. **

What YOU will do:

  • Developing hardware and Software solution designs for new requirements.

  • Developing solution designs for new HPC environments.

  • Troubleshooting hardware related complex issues.

  • Configure and maintain Linux HPC solutions head node, high-density compute nodes, job scheduler, virtual machines (VMs) and storage systems.

  • Maintain system software and firmware revisions including patches, updates, and OS upgrades.

  • Analyze, diagnose, and respond to system problems and user questions related to running jobs on the HPC cluster.

  • Coordinate with vendors to resolve hardware and software problems.

  • Help develop and implement new technologies based on industry best practices.

  • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security compliance requirements.

  • Monitoring system health and utilization metrics.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position (U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder).

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • 5+ years’ experience as a HPC Linux System Administrator.

  • Experience supporting mid-large HPC Linux environments.

  • Experience with HPC job scheduling tools.

  • Understanding of software tools, automated scripts, batch schedulers, hardware, and system-level troubleshooting, to support the engineering community.

  • Experience leading HPC projects.

  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and strong customer service orientation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience designing Mid-Large HPC solutions

  • Experience troubleshooting complex problems at the hardware OS level.

  • Experience with IBM LSF and Altair PBS Pro Job Schedulers.

  • Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) experience in an HPC Linux environment.

  • Virtual workstation experience for Engineering HPC Pre/Post processing activities.

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
