YOUR FUTURE TEAM

As part of TCEQ Compliance and Enforcement, you would help ensure that those we regulate comply with the state’s environmental laws.

This position is a member of our Critical Infrastructure division.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Plan and conduct in-house investigations for the emissions events program; prepare reports to document investigation findings. Identify potential violations through investigations of reports and records of these emissions.
  • Conduct enforcement and follow-up activities in accordance with Enforcement Initiation Criteria
  • Provide technical assistance and information to the public, regulated community, and other interested groups regarding the application of appropriate regulations.
  • Coordinate and/or participate in the collection of records, research, or analysis due to Public Information Requests (PIR). Participate on committees and attend meetings, seminars, or workshops as required.
  • Perform technical assistance activities for disaster response as needed

Qualifications

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience performing environmental activities.
  • Experience writing technical or research papers

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in a natural or physical science, engineering, environmental studies, or related field.

*One year of full-time experience in the field of environmental activities may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of the required education.

CURRENT TCEQ EMPLOYEES

This position is also available as a lateral transfer opportunity (LTO) to TCEQ employees within the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV state classification. The selected candidate must meet the minimum qualifications of the corresponding job in the Natural Resources Specialist II-IV series.
