Our client is an Australian accounting firm that offers a holistic, client-first approach to business advisory, taxation, and financial planning, serving a diverse client base from start-ups to ASX-listed companies.
They're looking for a skilled Australian Tax Accountant who can handle end-to-end tax and compliance tasks. You will work closely with the team to prepare tax returns, manage BAS/IAS lodgments, and provide accurate financial reporting for Australian clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and lodge Individual, Partnership, Company, and Trust tax returns
- Prepare and lodge BAS, IAS, and FBT
- Reconcile accounts and ensure compliance with ATO requirements
- Review financial statements and ensure accuracy of reporting
- Assist in tax planning and identifying potential tax-saving opportunities
- Communicate with the ATO regarding notices, follow-ups, and assessments
- Work collaboratively with the client’s accounting team and maintain strong client communication
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience working with Australian accounting or taxation
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax laws and ATO compliance
- Experience using Australian accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, HandiTax, Xero Tax)
- Solid understanding of BAS, IAS, GST, PAYG, and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong English communication skills
