Senior AI Operations Engineer – Freelance

SPACE44 builds and operates software systems for companies that need technology to work reliably in real, day-to-day operations. We are looking for a Senior AI Operations Engineer to operate and continuously improve AI systems built on the PIPE44 platform in client environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years operating complex production systems (platform ops, SRE, production engineering, DevOps, or similar)
• Experience supporting enterprise or client-facing systems
• Comfortable owning systems after launch
• Strong experience with API-based system integrations
• Familiarity with AI agents, workflow automation, or orchestration platforms
• Practical experience with LLM-based systems (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, etc.)
• Understanding of RAG concepts at an operational and quality-control level
• Solid grasp of access control, permissions, and system governance
• Experience working with monitoring, logging, and operational metrics
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
