With a strong focus on innovation and customer-first service, they consistently deliver top-tier testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) solutions.
The Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive, and timely cost estimates for TAB projects. This role requires comprehensive knowledge of HVAC mechanical systems, TAB processes, and industry standards to support the company's business development efforts while ensuring quality and precision in all estimate
Analyze project plans, specifications, and technical documents to determine TAB scope of work
Perform accurate take-offs from mechanical drawings and specifications for air and water balancing systems
Calculate labor hours and travel cost for TAB projects
Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals within established deadlines
Review project submittals and technical specifications to identify potential challenges or clarifications needed or specialty testing
Collaborate with the Estimating Department Manager to ensure estimates align with company standards and market competitiveness
Maintain accurate records of estimate data, historical costs, and project documentation
Support the bid coordination process by providing technical input and clarifications
Stay current with industry standards, particularly NEBB procedures and TAB best practices
Assist in developing and refining standardized estimation procedures and databases
Provide technical support to sales teams during client presentations and negotiations
Monitor and analyze completed project costs versus estimates to improve future accuracy
Handle multiple concurrent estimates while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
At least 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical or Construction trade.
Previous estimating experience in construction or mechanical trades preferred
Familiarity with building automation systems and various HVAC equipment types
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology, or related field preferred but not required
