Job Summary

Create Music Group is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Legal Intern to join our M&A Legal Group. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in music-related transactions and corporate legal work. The intern will work directly with the VP of M&A Legal Affairs, supporting a variety of strategic initiatives related to acquisitions, intellectual property, and corporate compliance, with a focus on music catalog acquisitions.

This is a part-time internship designed for current graduate students for the Fall 2025 term. Interns must be eligible to work in the U.S. and available for 10–20 hours per week over a 3-month period. This is a fully remote position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements, letters of direction, and related transactional documents
  • Conduct legal research and due diligence on potential acquisition targets
  • Support the preparation and submission of copyright registrations with the U.S. Copyright Office
  • Help manage and maintain corporate organizational documents and ensure ongoing compliance (e.g., filings, entity records, debt compliance)
  • Review and revise non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) with prospective partners and counterparties
  • Organize and track deal documents and legal correspondence
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and A&R teams on transaction-related tasks
  • Provide administrative support for ongoing legal projects as assigned by the VP of M&A Legal Affairs
  • Opportunities to support additional tasks based on interest and availability

Qualifications

  • Current law student (2L or 3L preferred) enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school
  • Strong interest in M&A, intellectual property, and the music/media industry
  • Excellent legal writing, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive and collaborative mindset
  • Prior experience in transactional, corporate, or entertainment law (internships included) is a plus

Pay Scale

  • $16.00 - $17.87 per hour
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
