We are seeking a skilled Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage our financial records and day-to-day bookkeeping, and ensure our accounts are maintained accurately and in compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, sound accounting knowledge (preferably UK GAAP/FRS 102)

Key Responsibilities
Financial Record Keeping
- Record and process all financial transactions accurately in Xero.
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records, including invoicing, payments, and receipts.
- Ensure all transactions are correctly coded and reconciled with supporting documentation.
Reconciliation & Reporting
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Produce month-end Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements.
- Build and run monthly cash flow forecasts and budget updates for each product.
- Prepare and assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and statutory reports.
Compliance & Audit
- Ensure all accounting practices are compliant with UK GAAP and company policies.
- Provide documentation and support to the KRL Finance team during the annual audit.
- Liaise with auditors and external consultants as required, ensuring timely completion of audits.
Payroll & Cash Flow Management
- Process payroll in line with statutory requirements and maintain related records.
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring liquidity and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and strengthen internal controls.
- Implement best practices to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all financial processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Proven experience as an Accountant, Bookkeeper, or similar role
- Sound understanding of UK accounting principles, financial regulations, and HMRC requirements
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, etc. We use Xero)
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently under deadlines
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, AAT, ACCA) is preferred but not essential
