In this unique and exciting position as part of the Lottery Operations Draw team, you will be part of a unique team that conducts drawings for all in-state Texas Lottery draw games. Drawings are held during the day and at night Monday through Saturday. The Drawings Specialist primary work location will be the lottery headquarters studio/office in downtown Austin. This position is highly structured and involves an abundance of step-by-step processes, procedures, and internal controls. Effective 9/1/2025 the Texas Lottery and this position will be transitioning to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
Performs complex (journey-level) consultative services and technical assistance work. Work involves planning, developing, and implementing the agency’s drawings program including the daily operations and functions of the Drawings Section. Performs program support work/activities by providing consultative services and technical assistance to program staff, the general public, agency staff, and governmental agencies while performing all aspects of Texas Lottery drawings in accordance with established drawing procedures. Works varied schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Works under general supervision with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position reports directly to the Drawings Section Supervisor in the Lottery Operations Division.
·Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university is required. (Experience providing technical assistance to the public or program support work, in excess of the required two years, may substitute for college on a year-for-year basis.)
·Requires working days, nights, weekends, and holidays in a rotating 40 hour weekly recurring schedule.
·Knowledge of the Texas Lottery Act enabling legislation.
