Symmetrio is seeking a Contract Specialist on behalf of our client, a multinational medical device organization. This position requires deep experience in U.S. government contracting, with a focus on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) sectors.

The Contract Specialist will play a key role in managing contract lifecycles, ensuring compliance, and supporting administrative and operational oversight for complex medical technology and service agreements.

This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours per week) with the potential to transition into a full-time role based on business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the full contract lifecycle for VA and DoD agreements, from proposal through closeout.
  • Review RFPs, RFQs, and contract terms to ensure compliance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Prepare and submit contract documentation, pricing data, and required reporting deliverables.
  • Serve as the point of contact for contracting officers, program managers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Support negotiation of contract terms, modifications, extensions, and renewals.
  • Coordinate with finance and operations teams on billing, funding allocations, and cost tracking.
  • Maintain records and ensure audit readiness per government standards.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience managing or administering U.S. government contracts, ideally within the VA or DoD.
  • Strong working knowledge of FAR/DFARS and federal acquisition processes.
  • Experience with medical device, defense, or technical service contracts preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail and compliance.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with both government and internal teams.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or NCMA certification a plus).
