About the role

Packback is seeking a motivated and driven Account Executive (AE) to join our Higher Education sales team. This role is a true hunter position focused on building new partnerships with colleges and universities. You will manage a high-volume pipeline of opportunities, focusing on new business sales of our core products. You'll be a key player in our company's top priority for growth, with a direct line to executive leadership and a nimble, supportive team.

What You'll Do

  • Own the Full Sales Cycle: Prospect, qualify, and close new business opportunities within your assigned territory of higher education institutions.
  • Pipeline Management: Manage a high-volume pipeline of 15-20 active opportunities at any given time, with a focus on closing approximately 20 deals annually.
  • Build Relationships: Develop and nurture relationships with key decision-makers, including Vice Presidents of online learning, academics, faculty affairs, or student success.
  • Deliver Compelling Demos: Conduct engaging and effective product demonstrations that highlight the value of Packback's platforms and tailor your messaging to diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Work closely with the CRO to develop deal strategies and receive direct coaching.
  • Refine the Sales Motion: Contribute to the ongoing refinement of our messaging and sales process as our market evolves.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 3+ years of successful B2B SaaS sales experience, preferably in a high-volume, mid-market environment.
  • Sales Acumen: A proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales quotas. You should be comfortable with both prospecting and demoing, and have a clear process for managing a pipeline.
  • Adaptability & Tenacity: You thrive in a fast-paced environment and are quick to adapt to new strategies. You are comfortable with change and have the tenacity to pursue new opportunities.
  • Mission-Driven: You are excited about Packback's mission to improve student engagement and outcomes in higher education.
  • Technical Fluency: You're comfortable with technology and can become proficient in our product to run your own demos.
  • Ability to travel regionally (up to 25%)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales revenue / quota attainment (annual quota with monthly and quarterly pacing targets)
  • Sales pipeline generation achieving target coverage ratios
  • Discovery meeting to opportunity conversion rate targets
  • Opportunity to Closed Won conversion rate targets
  • Proactive territory management and outbound volume targets
  • CRM data quality, including accurate forecasting and reporting

  • Salary: Base Salary: $105,000-125,000, Annual Variable Target: $60,000 (Total Comp: $165-185k)
