We are a certified B Corp, plastic-neutral, and on a mission to transform the CPG industry for good.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Director of People Experience to lead our people culture function and help shape the next chapter of Grove’s growth. This is a highly strategic and hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, loves building inclusive and high-performing teams, and has experience scaling People functions in lean, resourceful ways. This role will report to our VP, General Counsel.

Our Director of PX will oversee the full employee lifecycle from onboarding to engagement to offboarding with a relentless focus on building a workplace where talent can thrive. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in both strategic HR leadership and day-to-day people operations within a startup or high-growth environment. You’ll support a diverse employee population, including exempt corporate staff, non-exempt fulfillment center employees, and contractors—so a nuanced understanding of each group’s needs is essential. You will have a team of five reporting to you. Our ideal candidate will be based full-time in our Elizabethtown, PA fulfillment center but we are open to considering candidates outside of this location as well.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

    • Serve as a thought partner on culture, engagement, performance, inclusion, and leadership development.

    Own and Scale People Operations

    • Oversee core People functions including HR operations, total rewards, employee relations, and talent acquisition.
    • Lead and mentor a small, scrappy People team with an emphasis on automation, efficiency, and scale.
    • Optimize systems, policies, and tools that support a distributed workforce, two fulfillment centers, and an evolving org structure.

    Foster a Great Employee Experience

    • Develop strategies to elevate Grove’s culture, employee engagement, and belonging.
    • Roll out high-impact programs for feedback, recognition, learning development, and internal communications.
    • Champion a consistent and equitable experience across all touchpoints of the employee lifecycle.

    Act as a Trusted Advisor

    • Support leaders and managers on complex organizational and people challenges, coaching them through change and growth.
    • Help navigate sensitive employee relations issues with discretion, empathy, and business acumen.

YOU HAVE

  • Deep experience and seniority inPeople/HR roles, with at least 5 years’ in a senior leadership position.
  • Extensive experience in employee relations, structuring organizations, driving engagement, overseeing benefits programs, and managing performance processes.
  • Proven success in scaling HR in startup or scale-up environments.
  • Experience supporting a diverse workforce, including distributed salaried teams and onsite hourly employees.
  • A bias for action, comfort with ambiguity, and a builder’s mindset—you can zoom from strategy to execution seamlessly.
  • A grounded approach to leadership—you lead with humility, candor, and compassion.
