This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Control Engineer 3 - Remote in United States.

This fully remote role is ideal for a skilled Control Engineer with experience designing, developing, and maintaining systems that monitor and control machinery, processes, and critical infrastructure. The position involves leading projects across various industries, including industrial automation, water/wastewater, power systems, and transportation. You will design and implement advanced control solutions using PLCs, SCADA, and distributed control systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and ensure compliance with technical and safety standards. The role combines hands-on engineering, programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting with opportunities for mentorship and project leadership. Candidates will engage with cutting-edge technologies and complex automation projects that have a tangible impact on operational efficiency and reliability.

Accountabilities:

  • Develop design documents, including narrative design, requirements analysis, subsystem layouts, CAD drawings, wiring diagrams, SCADA screens, and hardware specifications.
  • Lead programming and configuration efforts for PLCs, RTUs, HMI systems, and SCADA applications.
  • Author and execute testing, commissioning, and factory/field procedures, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and resolve technical issues during project development.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain existing systems, including hardware/software upgrades and replacements.
  • Assist in project cost estimation, bid preparation, and evaluation of change orders.
  • Coordinate technical tasks and guide entry-level engineers and technical staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as ladder logic and structured text.
  • Experience with PLCs/DDCs and SCADA platforms including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider, Tridium Niagara, ABB, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience in control system startup, configuration, calibration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAE software (AutoCAD, EPLAN) and standard office software (Word, Excel).
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Preferred certifications include CAP, EIT, DBIA, CSSA, and platform-specific certifications for PLC or SCADA systems.
