Marine Surveyor- Toronto

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To inspect cargo damaged in transit anddeterminethe nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents todeterminewhen the cargo was damaged; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees loading andunloading ofcargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.

• Inspects damaged ships todeterminecauseof the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Supports the organization's quality program(s).

• Travelsasrequired.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.

Experience
Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experiencerequired.

Skills & Knowledge

• Good oral and written communication skills

• PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

• Good customer service skills

• Good organizational skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
