Marine Surveyor- TorontoPRIMARY PURPOSE: To inspect cargo damaged in transit anddeterminethe nature, cause, and extent of damages; to review documents todeterminewhen the cargo was damaged; and to provide written reports to underwriters and other parties with his/her qualified opinion as to the cause of loss.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversees loading andunloading ofcargo from ships and other forms of transit to document damages as they are loaded and/or unloaded.
Inspects damaged ships todeterminecauseof the damage and amount of damage resulting from collisions or motor failures.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports the organization's quality program(s).
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
Experience
Five (5) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experiencerequired.
Skills & Knowledge
Good oral and written communication skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies
