Role overview:
The Country Manager will be responsible for deepening and expanding existing partner relationships across Korea, with a focus on global money movement. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role that demands a strong execution mindset and a commitment to driving results through strategic account management. While the primary focus is on nurturing and growing current partnerships, identifying and qualifying new business opportunities for the sales team will also be valued.

The Country Manager will significantly impact TerraPay's growth and presence across the Korea through the following key responsibilities:
Remittance Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive country-specific remittance strategy aligned with the TerraPay's global objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities and market trends in the remittance industry within Korea, adapting strategies as needed.
Regulatory Relationships:
- Leverage existing connections with the Banks in the country and other relevant regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Act as the company's key liaison with regulatory authorities, maintaining open communication and fostering a positive relationship.
Partnership Development:
- Identify and onboard new banks, financial institutions, and fintech partners to expand the company's network and reach within Korea.
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing partners, ensuring exceptional service delivery, and fostering mutually beneficial collaborations.
Foreign Exchange Negotiations:
- Lead negotiations with banks and other partners to secure favorable foreign exchange rates and terms for remittance transactions.
- Monitor and analyse foreign exchange market trends to inform strategic decisions and optimize exchange rate negotiations.

Market Intelligence:
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences to drive informed business decisions.
- Gather and analyse data to provide insights that enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Performance Metrics:
- Set clear performance targets for the Korea operations, regularly reviewing progress, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
- Provide regular reports to senior management on key performance indicators, financial metrics, and market trends.
Requirements
Essential qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in Payments, Fintech, or Financial Services industry, with hands-on experience in B2B enterprise sales.
- Preferred direct experience managing Enterprise-grade clients such as major Money Remittance Operators, PSPs, Fintechs , traditional or challenger Banks. Degrees –University Degree CRM Savvy: You’re a CRM whiz. If it’s not in your toolkit, it should be!
- Proficiency in Korean Language is Mandatory.
- Candidates must have legal authorization to live and work in Korea.
- Entrepreneurial mindset, flexibility ownership: You’re adaptable, self-motivated, and take full ownership of your tasks.
- Team Spirit: You thrive in a team environment and are open to change but can also handle working independently.
- Customer Market Centric: You’ve got a strong grasp of customer needs, market dynamics, and industry requirements.
