This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Python Developer in Europe.

As a Senior Python Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining scalable, production-grade applications that protect web systems at a global scale. You will work on complex backend development tasks, including system-level programming, Linux internals, networking, and large-scale data processing. Your contributions will include refactoring and optimizing existing codebases, writing high-quality unit and functional tests, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability and performance. This position offers full ownership of key backend components in a dynamic, innovative environment, with opportunities to mentor colleagues and influence technical direction. Working fully remotely, you will contribute to a secure, high-performing product that impacts thousands of clients worldwide.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, production-ready Python applications.
  • Implement system-level programming tasks, including Linux internals and network management.
  • Build, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for large-scale data processing and analytics.
  • Refactor and improve existing codebases to enhance performance, maintainability, and readability.
  • Write and maintain comprehensive unit and functional tests to ensure software quality.
  • Create and update technical documentation for projects and processes.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide feedback to peers to maintain coding standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience in Python development for production systems.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Experience with system-level programming, particularly Linux internals and networking.
  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in English.
  • Nice-to-have: experience in security domains, including WAFs, ModSec rules, regex, or other web application firewalls.
  • Strong personal skills: proactive, fast learner, self-motivated, flexible, able to work with vague requirements, and team-oriented with excellent collaboration abilities.
